Labor stimulating massage is typically only offered at 39 weeks or more and must be approved by doctor.  This massage targets points believed to stimulate the production and release of Oxytocin, which is known to help start the labor process.  While the massage has been very consistent to start and/or increase contractions, there is never a guarantee as to how long the labor process will take.  This massage also addresses muscles and ligaments that will be involved in the labor process, and helps to relax Mom.  Also, helps create an overall feeling of well being.  Benefits include:

  • Promotes relaxation and improved sleep
  • Targets and helps to prepare specific muscles and ligaments for childbirth
  • Helps swelling of hands and feet
